New Age: The New Age of Our Time

What is "New Age Spirituality"? An article on this, by Amelie Friberg. It also addresses things that can be problematic with this worldview. ("NAIS" was a good useful term, never heard it before!)

"Unlike the previous age, the age of fishermen, which was marked by domination and obedience, in the age of Aquarius we will be enlightened. The new age represents a paradigm shift in which the current patriarchal and authoritarian systems are overturned. A new deeper knowledge, which is above the models of explanation of the world religion, will help us to depart from our material and egoistic mindset."

"Some New Age advocates go so far as to claim that physical illnesses, such as cancer, are caused by negative thoughts. They believe that we attract ill health by having the wrong lifestyle. In English, there is a concept that rings in the problem of 'victim blaming' within the new age: NAIS (New Age Illness Shaming)."
