3-Subparadoxal (ASIMC 1-5, QUOTED FOWLER, ETC.)

The perfect is possibly there as a something, exalted, but one does not put pressure on it to be "concrete" and therefore it can coexist with ordinary life, which requires this particular relationship in many ways.

Usually a fighting level.

Compromise can be made

"Ulf Ekman, March 2014." In March 2014, Ulf Ekman (2014-03-09), pastor emeritus of the Christian free church The Word of Life, writes an opinion piece in Dagens Nyheter in which he announces that he is now leaving the organization he founded and instead becomes Catholic. The motives he cites can be seen as prototypical for a maturity late in life. Ekman refers partly to divisions within Christianity in general, to which he no longer wants to contribute, and partly to the suffering he has caused others through his commitment to the Word of Life:

"I have come to realize that the movement I myself has represented for the last 30 years, despite successes and much good that has taken place in various mission fields, is nevertheless part of the ever-ongoing Protestant fragmentation of Christendom. Moreover, I must note with sadness that frictions, disagreements and disputes have created an an enemy and that individual people have been inflicted wounds and sufferings through their contacts with the movement. In this I myself and other representatives of the Word of Life have a responsibility, and I am sincerely sorry for what has hurt and what has caused people to suffer."

He also apologizes for the criticism of the Catholic Church that he himself has previously made: "As a Protestant, I have been influenced by and embraced a common anti-Catholic rhetoric and at our earlier stage I both wrote and spoke negatively and hurtfully about the Catholic Church. This is something I truly regret and regret today."

We do not need to take a position in one direction or the other in this history. We can be content to see this change of course, and the motives set out, precisely as prototypical. This is how a maturity along the S-axis (P-axis?) could be expressed.

The sub-paradoxical level can be attributed, respecting the more mature, but dropping it time and time again out of sight. Religious worship of the exalted, his guru attributed to such capacity, etc. Mature/neurotic defenses are engaged to keep the big issues away, for example. (Still splintering tendency when it comes to the "over-everyday" issues and stresses?)

Here are the natural adepts, those who can recognize the greatness of others without too much hallabaloo.

Typical defenses:

** High adaptive level/Mature **

Anticipation

Connection

Altruism

Humour

Straightforwardness

Self-reflection

Sublimation

Suppression
